Shimoga violence: 60 arrested, 24 cases registered
More than 50 arrested in Karnataka's Shivamogga district as two communities clashed during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions near Ragigudda.
As per reports, 60 people involved in the violence were arrested on Monday. The Superintendent of Shivamogga Police said 24 cases have been registered in connection with the clashes.
District in charge minister Madhu Bangarappa visited the hospitals and spoke to the doctors about the treatment given to the injured.
Justifying state Police Department action Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the state government will not tolerate people throwing stones at religious processions of other religions.
